Cake ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix (or devil's food, depending on what you prefer).
2 stick of cooled melted butter
4 large eggs
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup buttermilk

Frosting ingredients:
1 8oz package of cream cheese
2 sticks of butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
3 tablespoon(s) cocoa

Cake instructions:
1. Combine cake mix, buttermilk and butter.
2. Beat eggs and add to mixture. Mix until all lumps are gone.
3. Add coconut and pecans. Stir well.
4. Bake according to box directions and cake tester comes out clean.

Frosting instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Frost onto cooled cake.

Variations: Use white cake mix and omit cocoa from frosting (like a traditional Italian Cream Cake).
I have also made a lemon-almond version (use lemon cake mix. Add almond extract, chopped almond slivers, and a little lemon juice and peel to frosting mix.
