½c. butter
1c. brown sugar
1 egg
1tsp. vanilla
1 ½ c. flour
½ tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients. Dough will be thick. Shape into a long roll and wrap in wax paper. Chill in fridge. When ready to use, cut in 1/8 in. slices and bake at 370º for 10 min.

From Pam: This is a recipe that Grandma Faun made for her children and grandchildren. She would make big batches and put them in her fridge for any surprise family visits. She would often let the grandkids cut the cookies. The wonderful smell of these cookies baking brings back many memories for all of us.
