Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4-5 c. apples-about 6-8 apples-peeled, cored and sliced. Golden Delicious are tasty
2/3 to 3/4 c brown sugar packed; either light or dark
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. rolled oats-not one minute-5 minute works ok
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. soft butter;

Directions:
Directions:
Place sliced apples into a buttered 8x8 pan
Mix all other ingredients together in a bowl with a pastry knife until crumbly
Spread over the apples and bake at 375 F. 30-35 minutes until tender and golden brown

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is good warm or room temp. This makes about 6-8 servings if you are being polite--never enough. It is easily doubled in a 9x13 pan. Try another size pan if you don't have an 8x8. Mix up the apples. Try it with ice cream too. This recipe comes from an old Betty Crocker cookbook from the 1960's and is an old family favorite.
