2 c. oatmeal
2 c. all bran cereal
2 c. shredded what
1 c. shortening
2 c. boiling water
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 beaten eggs
5 c. whole wheat flour
5 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. cinnamon (opt)
1 tsp cloves (opt)
1 qt. buttermilk
2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
In very large bowl mix cereals together and pour boiling water over them, stir. In another bowl cream shortening, eggs and sugar and add to cereal mixture, stir Mix dry ingredients to sift into the bowl and add buttermilk, stirring well. Stir in nuts. Bake 12-20 min at 425º in muffin pan.

These are great if you are having guests stay with you and want to have something quick to make for breakfast. Serve with preserves, fresh fruit and yogurt. The batter keeps in tupperware in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
