"Plain fresh bread, its crust shatteringly crisp. Sweet cold butter. There is magic in the way they come together in your mouth to make a single perfect bite."--Ruth Reichl

Pears, frozen
Martinelli's sparkling apple juice

In the fall, cut ripe pears and freeze them in ziploc bags. Remove from freezer and let thaw a little to "crystal" state. Mash with potato masher. Add Martinelli's sparkling apple juice. Mix and serve.

Personal Notes:
From Stacey: I have so many great childhood memories of eating this at Grandma's house. Martinelli's will always remind me of Grandma! Another thing she used to do is freeze blueberries for us. She would take them out of the freezer and put some in a cup like a little dessert for us and we loved it. So fun!
