3 c. dates, chopped
2/3 c. sugar
1 c. orange juice
1 1/2 tbsp ReaLemon
2 1/2 blocks margarine
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 c. flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 c. oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º F. Grease 9 x 13" pan.
Cook first 4 ingredients over low heat. Add enough water to make jam like consistency. Set aside.
Cream butter & brown sugar.
Sift flour, salt & soda. Add to cream mixture. Add oatmeal. Rub together well.
Press about 2/3 of mixture in pan. Cover with date filling. Top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 1 hr.
