Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 nice cut up chicken-Gerber brand if possible -don't remove the skin
3-4 medium to big bay leaves-Turkish is better
3-4 celery stalks with leaves chopped
1 large yellow onion chopped
4-5 carrots peeled and chopped
1 large or 2 medium peeled and chopped parsnips
some garlic powder and coarse ground pepper NO salt
About 1/3 c of Minor's Brand chicken base-might need a little more or less-have to taste it-be careful, too much and it is too salty!
1 bag of Kluski brand noodles;

Directions:
Directions:
Wash chicken well and clean out the yucky brown stuff that sits next to the back bone on each side of the back if it is not already done
Put into an 8 qt pot with a lid; Fill pot about 1/2 way with water and add 2 nice bay leaves; Simmer about 1 1/2 hrs-keep water at about 1/2 level
Remove meat from bones and add back to pot; Add veggies, garlic powder, 2 more bay leaves and pepper and NO salt!; Simmer-gentle bubbles- about another hour or so
Now it is time to add the magic--Minors Base--about 1/3 cup more or less; Simmer a little longer and taste
Cook the Kluski noodles and do not add to soup
Don't forget to remove the bay leaves; Keep the water level about 1/2 way up or a little more in the pot as the soup cooks; The soup really does not need any salt

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The Minors chicken base is the most important part because it adds such good flavor. I use it for turkey gravy and any chicken with sauce. Store in the freezer. You can buy it at some stores and at Gorden Food Service--it is about $7 for 16 oz. GFS has their brand but I have never tried it. This is much better than granules etc and makes a really good soup-just ask Aunt Betty!
