2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup White Karo syrup
1 lb raw Spanish nuts (may substitute with raw peanuts)
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp soda

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the granulated sugar,1/2 cup of water and 1 cup of Karo White syrup to 260 degrees stirring constantly. (do not scrape the sides of the pot)
At 260 degrees add the raw nuts,1 tsp of salt and 2 Tbsp of butter;continue cooking to 301 degrees.
Take the pot off of the heat and add 2 tsp of *baking soda.
Mix quickly and pour onto a buttered cookie sheet with sides and spread thin.

*When the soda is added the mixture will foam up;it is important to pour out and spread as quickly as possible while it is still foaming.
