3 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup real butter
1 cup sugar

Directions:
Into bowl sift flour, baking powder and soda - mix. Cut in butter like a pie crust. Separate bowl, beat eggs, add sugar and beat well. Blend egg mixture into flour mixture. Chill dough several hours or overnight. Divide into about 3-4 rolls. Roll out and cut 1/8 inch thick with cookie cutters. Lift with spatula to ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes. Remove and decorate with frosting.

Butter Frosting: 1/3 cup soft butter, 2 cup confectioner sugar, 1 and 1/2 teas vanilla, about 2 tablespoon milk. Mix with electric mixer. Can tint with food coloring if desired.

Really a lot of time spent but kids love them. If you use lots of frosting, you may need 2 recipes of the frosting.
