1 1/2 T. olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 c. cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
1 (4oz) can chopped mild green chilies
1/2 to 1 T diced canned or fresh jalapeņos, or more to taste
1 1/2 t. ground cumin
1 t. oregano
Salt to taste
2 cans chicken broth
1 can water
1 can great northern beans
1/2 t. cayenne pepper, optional
1 1/2 c. shredded Monterey jack cheese
1/2 c.sour cream
Chopped onions, optional for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cooking and stirring frequently until onions are translucent. Add chicken, chilies, jalapeņos, cumin, oregano, broth, water, beans, cayenne and salt. Stir well, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 15 minutes. Just before serving, add cheese and sour cream, cooking over low heat just until the cheese is melted. Serve at once garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
