1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
1 egg
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
1 t. vanilla
1 t. baking soda
Pinch of salt
2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. finely cut rhubarb

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together brown sugar, shortening, egg, vanilla and sour milk. Add dry ingredients and beat for one minute. Stir in rhubarb. Pour in 9x13 greased baking pan. Sprinkle top is a mixture of 1/2 white sugar and 1 t. cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour.

I got this recipe from Mom. We always had more rhubarb than we knew what to do with...rhubarb sauce, pies, jam, desserts of all kinds.
