Rhode's Frozen dough
White sugar
Cinnamon (for sprinkling)
Hot oil (about 3 inches deep) in a large cast iron skillet or a deep heavy pot

Directions:
Directions:
Thaw dough and cut into portions about 4 oz size.
Flatten the dough and spread into circle with hands.
Dough should be stretched and as thin as possible.
Place the dough into the hot oil carefully.
Avoid splattering the oil.
Turn the dough when it begins to brown until it is brown on both sides.
Remove the cooked dough from the hot oil to a rack with paper toweling under it and allow the dough to drain.
While it is hot sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on it.
Enjoy warm.

When the children were young and we lived in Indiana and every year our church had an Elephant ear booth at the Lake County Fair. We worked in the booth. That is where we learned to make these tasty treats..
