1 c. oil-Wesson or Crisco was used then
3 c. sugar
2 c. canned pumpkin
2/3 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
4 eggs
2 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all in large bowl, pour batter into 3 loaf pans, greased and floured, but I grease the sides of the pans and put waxed paper in the bottom, the loaves come out easier. Bake @ 350º for 1 hour, put on rack to cool. After it cools, I put it in the refrigerator overnight, then into the freezer. This bread will keep for weeks in the refrigerator.
Optional: add 1 C. walnuts chopped or some chopped dates.
