1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
3 cups flour
1 cup minus 1 tablespoon of buttermilk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1-1/2 to 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds

Mix in bowl. Pour into a 5 x 9 inch loaf pan or 12 parchment lined muffin tins. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
