Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 heads shredded lettuce
1 c. celery chopped thin
1 c. sliced sweet red onion
1-1 1/2 c. sour cream
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. Hellman's mayonnaise thinned with vinegar
fried bacon
Parmesan cheese to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon and allow to cool. Amount of bacon depends on your taste, but I would suggest at least 1/2 pkg. Use a 9 x 13" pan. Place shredded lettuce in the bottom of the pan and then top with the chopped celery and sliced red onion. The next layer is the sauce. Blend together the sour cream and sugar. Drizzle over the top. The last layer is another sauce-Hellman's and vinegar. Once this last sauce is applied, top with crumbled bacon and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Chill for at least 3 hours. Unfortunately this salad does not keep very well. It should be used the day it is made.

This is an excellent salad, but most children don't care for it. Thanks to Jane for exposing me to it!
