Bottom Layer:
8 oz cream cheese, soften
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Enough whole pecans to cover surface

Top Layer:
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Cream
1 pt of fresh cream
2-3 Tbsp Powered sugar

Preheat oven 375º

Bottom layer:
Combine: cream cheese, sugar, salt and vanilla. Beat well add beaten egg. Stir in chopped pecans. Spread on bottom of crust. Cover cream cheese bottom layer with whole pecans placed in a pattern.

Top Layer:
Combine all ingredients and pour on top of pecans

Bake until done 40-50 mins (put foil around edges of crust to keep from browning to quickly) take off 10-15 mins before done.

Top with fresh whipping cream if desired.

Whipping Cream:
Whip fresh cream with power sugar until firm but not stiff.

Finally a pecan pie that doesn't taste sugary sweet. Don't get me wrong it has all the calories-but the cream cheese make this pie out-of-this-world...you will never eat regular pecan pie again. Wonderful for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
