16 c. popped corn
1 1/2 c. pecans
1 1/2 c. walnuts
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250º. Place popped corn, pecans and walnuts in large open roasting pan; set aside. In large 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, cook brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt to boiling; boil for 5 minutes; stirring frequently. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over popped corn mixture and stir to coat well. Bake for 1 hour; stirring frequently. Pour onto waxed paper to cool stirring occasionally to separate. Store in tightly covered container.

This recipe always makes me think of my friend Bettyrose who couldn't figure out what was wrong with her caramel corn until she realized she should have popped the corn before putting it in the oven.
