10 c. flour
1/3 c. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
1 T. salt
2 c. Crisco or Margarine or combination

To prepare mix for biscuits:
2 1/2 c. biscuit mix
1 egg (optional, but I like to add this)
1/2+ c. milk or buttermilk

Directions:
In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder,sugar & salt. Cut Crisco into flour mixture as per pastry. Place into ziplock bag or plastic container. May be stored in the fridge for 4 -6 weeks or freezer for longer periods.
To prepare: combine mix, egg and milk, stirring quickly with a fork. Transfer to a floured surface and knead 8-10 times. Press or roll out to 1/2 - 3/4" thick. Cut into circles or squares and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake @ 425º for 12-15 minutes till nicely browned. Makes 10 -12 biscuits. For drop biscuits, increase milk.

Variations:
1. Add grated cheese & seasonings/herbs.
2. Add dry cranberries, blueberries,or raisins & lemon rind and dust with granulated sugar
Cinnamon Buns/Pinwheels: roll out dough into a 10x12" rectangle:
3.Cinnamon buns: brush with melted butter, add brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins
4. Pizza / cheeseburger pinwheels: spread dough with pizza sauce, sliced meat diced or cooked ground beef, cheese and roll up, seal,slice and bake into delectable treats or lunches
5. Waffle/Pancake mix: add 1 tsp. vanilla, increase milk to desired consistency.This mix can be used for any bisquick recipe.
