1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

GLAZE:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
water to glaze consistency

Directions:

Mix brown sugar and egg together. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pecans. Add to egg mixture and add vanilla extract. Spread in a well greased and lightly floured 9" square pan or dish. Bake at 325º for 25 minutes. Cool and frost with glaze. Cut in bars. Note: Recipe may be doubled and baked in 2 pans.

I got this recipe from Jean King, another mother attending a PTA meeting at Travis High School in Austin, Texas on 14 Oct 1969. It has been a family favorite ever since.
