2 T. corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 large bread loaf
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1 Tbs. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine corn syrup, butter & sugar in a pot and simmer till syrup like. Pour into 9 x 13" baking pan or casserole dish.
Trim and layer bread into dish. If using sliced bread, double layer. If using unsliced bread, cut thicker slices and trim to fit.
Beat eggs, milk, vanilla, & salt & pour over bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night. Remove plastic wrap &
Bake @ 350º for 45 minutes.
Cut into squares. Invert (flip serving) and plate immediately after removing from oven, or syrup will harden and make removal difficult.
Garnish with fruit and a spritz of whip cream if desired.

This is a family Christmas tradition, if dinner was being served late. I like to use eggnog in place of the milk for a great flavor. You can also add cinnamon with the egg mixture, if desired. I also use a glass pan, if using on a buffet. If the bottom does stick, warm the bottom of the pan on low heat, but be careful not to burn it.
