1 cup crisco
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. almond extract
2 cup flour
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Sliced almonds
1 beaten egg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar. Add egg and almond extract. Beat until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients and beat into mixture. Shape into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Brush with beaten egg and press almond in center.
Bake at 375º for 12-15 minutes.
