2 pounds round steak or venison
1 pound cubed baking potatoes (skin on)
1 large chopped onion
2 cups small carrots or carrot chunks
2 stalks thinly sliced celery
1 sliced parsnip
2 cups V8 or other vegetable juice
1/2 cup water
Pepper
2 Tablespoons tapioca (uncooked)
Optional ingredients - one clove minced garlic, chopped chili peppers

Cut meat in one inch cubes. Combine meat and all vegetables in a large Dutch oven. Combine water, juice, and tapioca; stir well and let stand 5 minutes. Add juice mixture to pan. Cover and bake at 300 F for 2 1/2 hours.
