¾ cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks (or 2 whole eggs)
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt together in saucepan. Add yolks (or whole eggs) and milk gradually.

2. Bring to a boil over med. heat, stirring constantly. Continue to cook & stir until smooth & thickened.

3. Remove from heat; stir in butter, then vanilla. Place waxed paper over surface and cool, and then chill before filling cream puffs.

**DOUBLE THIS if using to fill 1 recipe cream puffs.

**To use for a 13x9-inch pan of Vanilla Wafer Banana Pudding, triple the recipe.

**Also great just as a bowl of homemade vanilla pudding, or to fill a pre-baked pie crust. Cool only 5 min. after cooking, then pour into crust.
