1 c. margarine(stick)
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Apricot Filling--
2 c. dried apricots,chopped fine
3/4 c. sugar
2 c. water
3/4 c. chopped nuts(optional)

Cook apricots with sugar in water until fruit is tender and thick. Remove from heat and cool thoroughly before using.

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Let dough stand for thirty minutes. Make filling and set aside to cool. Divide dough into 4 parts. Roll dough out to1/8 inch thick. Spread1/4 of filling on each 1/4 part of dough. Roll up as for pin wheel. Chill. When ready to bake, slice in 1/4 inch pieces. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º approximate 10 to 11 minutes; just until golden brown. Also can make dough into ball, put thumb print in middle, add1/2 tsp. filling in middle and fold over.

Original recipe from Grandma Ruby Sowers. Ruby Sowers, F.W.'s mother, use to bake these a lot, sometimes using different fillings. This recipe was in 4-H cook book back in the 1950. Ruby was food leader for many years.
