l l/4 lb. ground beef
l2 large cabbage leaves
2 tsp. salt
l cup cooked rice
l small onion chopped
1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning or thyme
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
l tbsp. brown sugar
l tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar
l/2 tsp. pepper
1 egg
l/4 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Cover cabbage leaves with boiling water and let stand 5 minutes or until limp; drain. Combine next 7 ingredients.
Place equal portions of meat mixture in center of each leaf. Fold sides of each leaf over meat; roll up and fasten with toothpicks or string.
Brown in hot oil in large skillet. Pour in tomato sauce.
Combine sugar, water, and lemon juice. Stir into tomato sauce.
Simmer covered, one hour, basting occasionally.
Makes 6 servings.
