1 cup raisins
½ tsp. salt
1 cup shortening
½ tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar
½ cinnamon
3 beaten eggs
½ tsp. allspice
2 cups flour
½ tsp. cloves
2 cups oatmeal
¼ cup. chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
Cover raisins with water and bring to a boil. Cool, save the liquid. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Add dry ingredients, raisins liquid, raisins, dates, nuts. Drop onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
