5 Baking Apples, 5 T. Sugar, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 3 C. Unsifted Flour, 2 1/2 C. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 4 eggs, 1 C. veg. oil, 2 tsp. vanilla, 1/3 C. orange juice, 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Glaze: 1 1/2 C. confection sugar (4x) 2 T. soft butter, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1-2 T. water. Mix till smooth and drizzle over cake

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour tube or bundt pan. Peel apples, slice thin. Lg bowl, toss apples, 5 T. sugar and cinnamon and set aside. Mix flour, sugar, salt, eggs, oil, vanilla, juice, soda and baking powder. Blend on low for 1 min then increase speed to med & blend for 3 min. (very thick dough). Fill prepared pan with alternating layers of batter & apples (3 batter layers & 2 apples). Start & finish with batter! Bake 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hours. Cool. Remove and glaze
