Peachy Almond French Toast Recipe

8 cups cubed bread
8 eggs
3 cups milk
1 tsp almond extract
1 26oz can sliced peaches - drained
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3 Tbsp brown sugar - packed
1/4 cup sliced almonds

Amaretto Sauce
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp flour
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup half & half
4 tsp Amaretto liqueur

Directions:

1. Spray 9x13 baking dish
2. Place bread cubes in baking dish
3. Arrange peaches on top of bread
4. Beat eggs, milk, sugar, & almond extract
5. Pour mixture over bread
6. Press peaches in with back of a spoon
7. Mix cinnamon & brown sugar then sprinkle on top
8. Add almonds

Bake 50-55 minutes or until knife comes out clean

Sauce:
1. Stir together sugar and flour in a small pan.
2. Add butter and half & half
3. Bring to boil and remove from heat.
4. Stir in Amaretto Liqueur.

I got this recipe from the owners of the Barn in the Bluff, a B&B in Elkador. This is what they served us our first morning. Very good!
