1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
4 cups fresh blueberries
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Blend 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Stir in blueberries and lemon juice. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Pour into 2 quart cassserole. Heat oven to 400º
Stir together flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder and salt. Add shortening and milk. Cut through shortening with fork 6 times until dough forms a ball.
Drop by spoonfuls on hot fruit. Bake 25-30 minutes until brown.

Optional Fruit Changes:
For Peach Cobbler: substitute 4 cups peaches and 1/4 tsp cinnamon for blueberries and lemon juice.

For Cherry Cobbler: substitute 4 cups cherries and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract for blueberries and lemon juice
