Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 c. self rising flour
5-6 T. sugar
1 can beer – regular or light

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together just until blended, batter will be lumpy. Pour into loaf pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350º. Remove from oven and pour 1/4 cup melted butter over the top. Continue baking about 15 more minutes. I have used regular or light beer and it tastes the same. The beer works best at room temperature. I use a stone loaf pan - if you use glass or tin, baking time might vary. Slices better if you let it cool a little.

One year Nancy gave me a beautiful yellow Julia Childs Rose. You can enjoy it every summer at the end of our driveway.
