3 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. cream
1/4 tsp. salt
11/4 c. milk
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Pecan halves

Directions:
Boil the sugar, cream, salt, milk, and butter gently, stirring grequently.When soft ball forms when tested in cup of cold water (about 30 minutes), remove candy from heat and let stand for 20 minutes without stirring or moving. Add 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla and beat until thick and creamy. Pour 2/3 of an inch thick into shallow buttered pan. Press pecan halves about an inch apart over top of candy. When stiff, cut into 1 inch squares
