1/2 cup milk
6 tbsp. Butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. Baking powder

Filling:
8 cups milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites, beaten
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add milk and eggs and beat well. Add four to make soft dough. Roll out in thin layers and place on a pizza pan. Bake in 375º oven until brown. Make several layers, bake one layer a little longer for a golden brown colour, and crumble this layer to be sprinkled on top of Napoleon when it is done.

Filling:
Mix egg yolks, cornstarch and sugar together. Add milk and vanilla. Boil until thickened. Add beaten egg whites and butter. Cool slightly.
Layer pastry with filling, topping with crumbled pastry. Store in refrigerator to set. This recipe was received from Auntie Annie (Dueck)
