Ingredients:  
1 lb.seeded raisins boiled in 2 cups of water for 15 mins.
Add 1/2 cup shortening while raisin mixture is still hot.
Cool, then add
1 cup of water
2 cups sugar
1 tsp.cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
4 cups flour
1 tbsp.baking soda in a little hot water

Bake in 13 X 9 pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour

Kim...this is a recipe from your Great-Great-Grandmother Lillie Poley (grandfather Jim Price's grandmother). I have heard it called Poor Man's Cake but Grandmom always called it yum yum cake and it sure was.
