1 loaf (1 lb.) French bread, cut into 1 in. slices
4 eggs
2/3 c. orange juice
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Arrange bread slices in a greased 13x9x2 in. pan. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg until blended; pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Pour butter into a 15X10X1 in. baking pan. Transfer bread slices to prepared pan. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 min. or until bread is golden brown. Dust with confectioner's sugar and serve with syrup if desired. Makes 6 to 8 servings
