1 whole chicken or 4 chicken breasts
˝ cup flour
salt and pepper, season to taste
˝ stick butter or margarine
1 can crushed tomatoes
˝ teaspoon rosemary
1 green pepper, cut up
1 medium onion, sliced
8 ounce package of fresh sliced mushrooms


Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, salt and pepper. Roll chicken in mixture. Melt butter in large saucepan, brown chicken. Add onions and sauté. Add tomatoes and rosemary, cover and simmer about 45 minutes. Add mushrooms and green pepper. Cook about 15 minutes more. Serve over elbow noodles or rice.

I skin my chicken. Also use more rosemary.

Actually Sarah's cookbook says it's from Elaine but it's grandma's recipe. Elaine got this recipe from Grandma when she first got married. "I had to follow behind her while she was making it one time to measure the amount of ingredients she was using. She did not cook with measuring cups or spoons. It's a recipe she made often and we love." Grandma Toni would have wanted you to have her recipe too.
