3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package vanilla instant pudding (3.4 oz. size)
1 cup butter or margarine (I use 1 stick of each)
Cream above ingredients till smooth and creamy
Add: 2 eggs and mix well
Add: 2 1/4 cups flour
and 1 teaspoon baking soda, mix well
Add: 12 ounces chocolate chips
and 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired

Drop by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart onto un-greased baking sheets.
Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 minutes.

*For chocolate chocolate chip cookies, substitute chocolate flavor instant pudding
