Ingredients:  
4 tbsp. shortening
3 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/2 cup diced celery
1 cup diced cooked meat
4 tbsp. flour
2 cups milk or meat stock
1/2 cup cooked carrots

Directions:
Directions:
Brown slowly in shortening: onion, pepper, celery and meat.
Stir constantly.
Add flour and continue to stir until brown.
Add remaining ingredients.
Heat thoroughly.

Pour into shallow well-oiled baking dish.
Cover with layer of well-seasoned mashed potatoes. Dot with butter.
Bake in hot oven (400º) until well browned.
