Place the number of eggs you will be boiling in a pan of cold water. Bring the pan to boiling and then time from the start of boiling 3 minutes for Soft-Boiled Eggs. 7 Minutes for Medium-Boiled Eggs and a whooping 11 minutes for Hard-Boiled Eggs.

Legend has it that my Mom, Jean Martinson, was making standard eggs the morning of the Great Armistice Day Blizzard. Hence they were delayed in departing from the cabin in Waconia and ended up stranded at a farm for several days before resuming their short trip back to Minneapolis. It must have been the fault of the person who wanted hard-boiled eggs.
