3/4 c. butter or shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg or ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 c. flour
3 c. rolled oats
1 1/2 c. M&Ms

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly butter, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla. In another bowl, combine salt, baking soda, nutmeg or cloves, cinnamon, and flour. Combine both mixtures in a large bowl and mix well. Slowly stir in rolled oats followed by M&Ms. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes.

This recipe is from my sister-in-law, Meghan Anderson. Oatmeal cookies are my favorite and this is the best recipe I have found! (Also great with raisins and walnuts instead of M&Ms).
