Kidney Beans, Large Limas, Green Split Peas,
Lentils, Garbanzo Beans, Great Northern Beans

Ingredients:
Ground Beef or Cubed Ham or Ham Hock
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. sliced celery
1 c. sliced carrots
1 15 oz. can of stewed tomatoes

( I hardly ever add the tomatoes)

Directions:
Directions:
Package 2 cup portions of bean mixture with the following recipe attached. Rinse the beans until the water looks fairly clean. Put beans in stockpot and add all BUT the tomatoes., 1 c. chopped onion, 15 oz. can tomato sauce or tomatoes, 1 1/2 tsp. to 1 T. Chili Powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce, and 2 tsp. garlic powder, Black Pepper to taste, Put all BUT the tomatoes in stock pot. Cover with water so that it is about 1" over the bean mixture. Bring to a boil then turn down to simmer for the rest of the day. Add the tomatoes a little before serving.
I usually start the soup in the morning.

My crockpot version:
In 5 qt. crockpot add 3 c. dry bean mixture, 1 1/2c. chopped celery,
1/2 c. chopped onion, 1 c. sliced carrots, 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce, 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1-2 tsp. garlic powder, Black Pepper to taste. Pour water over mixture until it is about 1 in. over the top of the beans. Cook on high for about 4 hours, covered. Take lid off and stir, add tomatoes, & meat (cooked hamburger or cubed ham). Add more water at this time if needed (it most likely will need water). The beans will not be finished cooking yet. Cover and continue cooking on low for another 5 or 6 hours. I prefer Ham. Delicious.

Personal Notes:
Package the beans into 2 c. packages. Insert a copy of the recipe in each package. This makes a great gift.
For personal use I just store the beans in an airtight container.
