1 large ripe tomato
4 slices white bread (other slice breads can be substituted)
1 T. Hellmann's mayonnaise
salt to desired taste
pepper to desired taste

Directions:
Directions:
Wash tomato, cut into slices. Place bread on plate. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of bread. Place at least 4 slices of tomato on bread, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

This sandwich is great to eat during hot weather. Home grown tomatoes are great for this sandwich. Very simple to make. It is delicious when soggy. One of my mother's favorite sandwiches.
