Ingredients:
1 cup dried Navy beans
1 scant cup brown sugar
salt and pepper
2 slices bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Soak beans overnight, next day simmer in same water until tender (about 2 hrs.). Do not salt beans until ready to bake. Do not put too much water on beans to simmer - better to add a little if necessary. When tender - put beans and water they were cooked in into baking dish, add sugar, salt and pepper. Top with 2 slices of bacon, cut in half. Bake about 2 1/2 hrs. at 350º. Do not let the beans get too dry. Do not use more bacon because the beans will be greasy.l
