2 c. all purpose flour
3 T. sugar
1 T. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
¼ c. butter
1 egg
1 c. milk
½ c. preserves

Directions:
Can use self-rising flour instead. Preheat oven 425º and grease muffin pan. Mix dry ingredients first and then add liquid. Stir until just moistened, about 25 strokes. Spoon mixture into muffin pan (about1/3 full for each muffin) and add 2 tsp. preserves over top of each. Bake 20-25 minutes. Yield: 12 muffins.

I am talking about hide & go seek at dusk, red light, green light, kick the can, playing kickball and dodgeball until your porch light came on.. and Mother may I?, red rover, hula hoops, roller skating to music, catching lightning bugs in a jar, ice cream from the ice cream truck, marbles until your thumb was sore, mumbly peg, being tired from playing outside all day. Haven't our kids missed a lot?
