2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and salt. Beat butter, sugar and egg in lg. bowl until fluffy; blend in vanilla. Stir in flour mixture to make a stiff dough. To form cookies, make 1" dough balls and put thumb print in center and place them on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool and place a dollop of raspberry jam, plum jelly or jam of choice in thumb print depression. The cookie can be sprinkled with powdered sugar if desired. Recipe can be proportionally increased to make more cookies.
