3 c. milk
1 1/2 c. cream
4 eggs separated
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour (rounded)

Directions:
Directions:
Put milk and 1/2 c. cream in top of double boiler. Start heating this while you prepare the following: Mix flour and sugar together. Beat egg yolks and add 1 c. cream. Add flour/sugar mixture and beat well. Add this mixture to hot milk. Cook until mixture thickens, stirring almost constantly. Add coconut. Pour into cooked pie shells. Makes 2 pies.

I believe Mom made meringue with the egg whites, put that on top of the pies, and browned the meringue in the oven.
