1 cup shortening, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 3/4 cups flour, 2 tsp cream of tartar, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mis first three ingredients together thoroughly. Sift together next four ingredients and add to first mixture in thirds until well blended. Roll into walnut-sized balls and roll in mixture of 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 400 or until lightly brown but still soft. Cookies will be puffy but will flatten out when cooled.
