2 C butter, 2 C sugar, 6 eggs beaten, 1 T vanilla, 1/2 t salt, 3 C flour, 1 lb. chopped figs, 1 lb. chopped candied pineapple, 1 lb. chopped candied cherries and 5 C chopped nuts.

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly, stir in eggs and vanilla. Mix 1 C flour with fruits & nuts. Mix remaining flour and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Stir in fruit mixture. Place 2 or 3 layers waxed paper on bottom of greased tube pan, place batter in pan.Pour 2 C water into a shallow pan. Place on bottom shelf oven beneath cake pan. Bake @ 250º for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until cake test done.
