2 squares of chocolate
2 scoops sugar - approx. 2 cups
3 Tbsp cornstarch or 2 heaping of flour
Dash of salt
1 can evaporated milk + water in can
4 egg yolks
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 baked pie shells or tarts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in double boiler.
Remove from heat and add sugar and cornstarch (best to mix the two together before adding to chocolate); then add egg yolks, then evaporated milk, plus water added to can (probably about 1/3 to ½ of can).
Using double boiler, boil until thick, stirring constantly.
Remove after thickened, add 2 Tbsp. butter, 1 tsp. vanilla and beat until smooth.
Pour into 2 baked pie shells.
Use egg whites to make meringue

This was the most requested desert when we were growing up. Dennis now loves to make it for friends. Harry and Speck use to fight over it when Ginger would make a pie for them!
