2 1/2 oz (squares) Unsweetened Chocolate or 1/2 c cocoa
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk or light cream
2 tbsp corn syrup
2 1/2 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cook chocolate, milk, sugar, salt and corn syrup over low heat to 236º, using a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, add butter and cool to 110º, with out stirring. Then add vanilla and beat until smooth and no gloss.. When thickened pour into pan, cool and cut.

Every time I made this recipe, it failed. Dad would take the failure, reheat it and get perfect fudge.
