1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups white flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups buttermilk
1 egg beaten
2 T molasses
2 tsp soda
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins
1 package dates

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients. Add liquids. Add nuts, raisins and dates. Let rise in two greased bread pans 15 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for about one hour.

This recipe from Ruth Lutz. A Lutz family tradition was to have this bread with home made split pea soup. Quite tasty.
